There was considerable buzz around Roadshow Antiques over the past week all about what happened at the Oscars this year. A number of props for the film “The Shape of Water” were purchased at Roadshow Antiques — both at the North and South locations.

The film’s production team sent a special thank you to Roadshow for supplying many of the set pieces for the story set in the 1960’s.

The thank you note read in part:

“Your excellent work helped us get there – from all of our running in with last-minute requests to advising us on our projects and getting us our items quickly. We couldn’t have won an Oscar for production design without your help!”

Several media outlets picked up the story which proved to be excellent advertising for Roadshow Antiques. So, a special thank you to those outlets for sharing our story, especially CTV News Barrie.

Congratulations also to Production Designer Paul Austerberry and Set Directors Jeff Melvin and Shane Vieau for your Oscar win for best production design for The Shape of Water. Roadshow is very thankful for your kind recognition of our contribution to your work.

Not only that, but we are also very thankful to our wonderful dealers for their dedication and hard work in making Roadshow Antiques a success story. The quality of antiques and collectibles arriving in the stores each day — highly sought after pieces by customers  and the movie industry alike — is what makes our stores so special.
